Port Wine has its name because its origin, Port City, located where the Douro River which means Golden River, meets the Atlantic Ocean. This river is named because the color of it water.

Port wine is made with selected grapes (the main ones are: Touriga Nacional, Roriz Ink, French Touriga, Baroque Ink and Tinto-Dog) from Douro Valley, situated in Portugal (north-eastern). 

There are at least seven varieties of grapes with flavors to serve international categories of wine. They are:

Cabernet Sauvignon: Grape of good character: herbaceous with characteristic flavor. The main grape of the Medoc; also responsible for the best red wines from California, South America and East Europe. In Australia, its rival is Shiraz. Its wine almost always demands aging; generally it comes from the mixture with MERLOT, CABERNET FRANC or SYRAH, for example.
