Port Wine

Port Wine has its name because its origin, Port City, located where the Douro River which means Golden River, meets the Atlantic Ocean. This river is named because the color of it water.

Port wine is made with selected grapes (the main ones are: Touriga Nacional, Roriz Ink, French Touriga, Baroque Ink and Tinto-Dog) from Douro Valley, situated in Portugal (north-eastern). 

 

The secret of the production of Port inhabits in the alcohol addition, to join one “aguardente”, or brandy, to the supreme flavor of grapes.

The great majority of the Port is “ruby”, “alourado” and white”.
